Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an aquatic plant whose excessive growth can cause environmental problems, although it also has potential as a raw material for organic fertilizer production. This community service activity aimed to introduce the potential utilization of water hyacinth and its processing into organic fertilizer through an educational session supported by a tutorial video in Hamlet II, Margalaksana Village. The activity involved 30 participants, including the Head of Hamlet II, community association leaders and their staff, and university students participating in a community service program. The activity included problem identification, community discussions, an educational session, tutorial video presentation, and descriptive qualitative evaluation through discussions and questions and answers. The tutorial video was developed from the fertilizer production process demonstrated and recorded by the team before the educational session. The results showed that information on water hyacinth problems, its potential utilization, and fertilizer production procedures was delivered to the participants. Participant engagement was reflected in discussions concerning the materials, production process, and potential applications of organic fertilizer. The tutorial video served as the main output, providing a visual demonstration of the processing stages without involving participants in hands-on practice. This activity represents an initial educational effort that could be followed by practical training and a more systematic evaluation of community knowledge.
