Analisis Kesadaran Lingkungan Masyarakat Bantaran Sungai Deli Terhadap Pencemaran Sungai

The condition of the Deli River is currently worrying and is included in the category is heavily polluted based on the results of physical characteristics tests and bioindicator in the form of the presence of phytoplankton and pathogenic bacteria. One of the causes of polluted river is the lack of knowledge and understanding of the community around the environment and the lack of public awareness of the river environment around the environment and the lack of public awareness of the river environment. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with the aim of to describe the environmental awareness of the community along the Deli river towards pollution of the deli river environment. The instrument used is a questionnaire with 25 questions and unstructured interviews. The respondents in this study amounted to 40 people who determined using purposive sampling. The results showed that the attitude of residents in maintaining the river environment is in a very good category with an average score of 80,33. Residents have realized the importance of protecting the river environment which is a shared responsibility. The behavior of Medan city residents towards river pollution is in the good category with an average score of 75.38.
