Abstract

The skills needed to face the 21st era include critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity and innovation. Collaboration skills are defined as the ability to communicate dialogically to exchange ideas, opinions or ideas. The teams games tournament type cooperative learning model encourages students to participate actively in the physical and mental learning process to work together. This research aims to determine students' collaboration skills in ecological material using a team games tournament type cooperative model. The method used is one group pretest-posttest design with a quantitative approach. The results of the analysis of students' collaboration skills data obtained an average N-gain value of 0.88, which shows the high category. As for the hypothesis test, which was carried out using the Wilcoxon test results output table, a 2-tailed sig value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that the team games engagement type cooperative learning model influences students' collaboration skills in ecological material.
